The Two-Bucket Wash Method
This is the non-negotiable standard for preventing wash-induced swirl marks. The system requires two heavy-duty 5-gallon buckets, each fitted with a dirt-trapping grate (grit guard) at the base.
Bucket A contains your highly lubricious shampoo solution. Bucket B contains pure, clean water. The wash mitt is saturated in Bucket A, used to cleanse one panel, and then thoroughly agitated against the grit guard in Bucket B to release captured debris before returning to Bucket A. This ensures you are never dragging abrasive dirt back across the sensitive clear coat.
Microfiber Science
Not all towels are created equal. We classify microfiber by GSM (Grams per Square Meter) and blend ratio (typically 70/30 or 80/20 Polyester to Polyamide).
- Drying: Twisted-loop 1200+ GSM towels designed to pull vast amounts of water via capillary action with minimal friction.
- Coating Removal: Edgeless, short-nap 300 GSM towels (pearl weave) that provide the bite needed to level flashing ceramic resins.
- Delicate Polishing: Ultra-plush, ultrasonic-cut 500 GSM towels specifically for final buffing of carnauba waxes on soft paints.
Machine Correction
To eliminate defects permanently, one must employ a Dual Action (DA) or Rotary polisher. The DA relies on forced rotation and random orbital movement, preventing heat buildup and hologramming, making it the supreme choice for refining paint to a mirror finish alongside foam, microfiber, or wool abrasive pads.
